Discontinued Controls
As of the December 31, 2006 Hired-Hand implemented an end of life policy on all System 100, 500, 1000 and 2000 Control Systems.
This means that we will no longer be able to service or guarantee parts and accessories for the above listed controllers. This is an inevitable decision which we delayed for as long as was possible, in fact, years longer than our competitors in this market. It is not something that we wanted to have to do, but the changes in technology between the late 80's when these controls were introduced and the present have made it out of our hands.
Seeing this coming down the road, Hired-Hand set out at the end of 2006 to design a control system that would ease the burden during this change-out process. What happened in the end was the birth of an all new control system - the Evolution 1200. The cost of the EV-1200 is minimal when compared to making the transition from an out of date control to a high end system like our EV-3000/3001 model.
One goal that we had in designing the 1200 was not to in any way sacrifice features in order to obtain a low overall cost. We are not offering a "band-aid" controller. Every feature and benefit offered on our 3000/3001 unit is present in the 1200, in addition to features that are an improvement over the larger model. This controller is inexpensive enough to replace a low-end control, but is advanced enough to serve as a building block for a top of the line system. It is expandable to 64 fully programmable stages and has the ability to be fully interfaced to your current CCS Panels.

Hired-Hand has designed this document with a goal of getting the information to you that you will need to make a decision on this controller change out in as simple a way as possible. We have tried to cover some of the more common circumstances found in the field, but do acknowledge that there are several growers who may have different installations than we have covered here, such as additional thermostats installed throughout the house. You also may have a current installation that puts you somewhere in between the parallel move of option two and the complete upgrade of option three. If either of these is the case or if, for any reason, you’re situation does not match any of the ones covered, please contact your Hired-Hand dealer. Your dealer will then put you in touch with a Hired-Hand representative who can walk you through the process and help you arrive at a decision as to what equipment will best fit your unique situation.
